Now let's get to the specific sections.
#1 Manage your Beatport Career Health
This section shows you your overall Beatport Health, including Beatport Performance and Beatport Artist Chart Rank.
❓ HOW TO USE IT:
Try to keep your Beatport Performance indicator in the green area. This means that the performance of your Beatport tracks stands out from the artists who rank close to you.
Here’s UMEK’s example: he’s doing nicely compared to Techno artists ranked closest to him, so his indicator is well in the green. We’ll be using UMEK’s screenshots throughout this guide.
TIPS:
✔️ Research similar artists’ Beatport analytics. Closely inspect the ones with the indicator in the green – which tracks they put out, and how they promote them. This way, you’ll get new ideas for boosting your own tracks.
#2 See your Current Position and Overview of Tracks on Beatport
These sections tell you if your tracks are currently charting on the Beatport Top 100 charts, and offer an overview of their ranks, genres, and the number of days they’ve spent on said charts.
❓ HOW TO USE IT:
Check out which tracks made it onto the charts, and see how their ranking has changed over time. People who are checking your Page can listen to your tracks and buy them directly.
This overview will also give you objective insight into how productive you've been through the years and how consistently successful your tracks were/are according to the number of days they've spent on the Top 100 charts in different time periods.
TIPS:
✔️ Compare the number of your Top 100 chart tracks vs. the overall number of tracks you released. The ratio will give you an idea in which year your tracks were getting picked up more, or if something else worked in their favor.
✔️ To improve your performance, get inspired by your role models or artists who you know are doing well right now.
✔️ Ask yourself: did a specific promotional approach help your track chart better? Or was it a specific style that resonated with fans more?
See here: UMEK’s tracks performed well in Genre Charts in 2019 and 2020, meaning he finds constant success with a combination of his signature Techno sound and strategic promotion.
Once you have the answers, see what would work for your future plans.
#3 What’s your Beatport Performance?
Here, you see a visual timeline showing your 12-month Beatport popularity based on Viberate Points, with indicated highlights.
❓ HOW TO USE IT:
Click on the symbols on the line to see specific highlights (displayed beneath the chart), and discover which tracks gained the most attention. By clicking on tracks, you’ll hear their previews.
TIPS:
✔️ An upward trend is a good sign. By examining standout tracks from other artists, you can get additional insights into which label released which successful track.
#4 Track overview and Signature Beatport tracks
These two sections are pretty straightforward. The first overview shows how many of your tracks made Beatport Charts in the last 12 months or overall, and their corresponding positions.
Your most popular “Signature” Beatport tracks are displayed below that. Their popularity is based on Viberate Points, and the cards display the release date and the label.
❓ HOW TO USE IT:
This overview can work as a portfolio that you can use when talking with label executives, event organizers, and A&Rs.
#5 Examine your Top Tracks on Beatport Charts
This is an overview of all your tracks that appeared on the Beatport Top 100 charts in the selected timeframe.
❓ HOW TO USE IT:
Click on a specific track and inspect its movement through time. Alternate between time periods and filters to get the whole picture.
Look for visible increases in engagement on the graph line and try to determine the causes. Don’t give up if your tracks haven't charted! Getting onto a global chart is not an easy task.
TIPS:
✔️ Use your social and streaming channels to promote tracks. Don’t be shy about inviting your fans to give you a listen. Use track names as hashtags. Include your music in your social media content, or do some PR work.
Take advice from UMEK, who promoted “Intricately” on his Instagram mid-September and quickly saw a peak in Techno charts.
✔️ Find the connections between tracks that have achieved a high rank on the Beatport 100 charts. Are they the same genre, were they similarly promoted, is it the beat that stands out.
✔️ Find artists similar to you, check if their tracks got on the charts, and then go to the next section, "Artists Collaborated With”, to inspect their successful collabs, or to "Labels Artist Released On" to see which labels helped them get there. Think about reaching out. You'll find some tips on how to do that here.
