The 2023 edition of the GroundUP Music Festival, a mainstay in the American R&B music scene, did not dissapoint. In addition to Kimbra, Silvana Estrada, Robert Glasper, Andrew Bird, Snarky Puppy, Lalah Hathaway, MARO, Tank and the Bangas, Cory Henry, and Emily King, the festival featured some of the largest and most skilled musicians in the genre.
Kimbra played songs from her most recent album as well as some of her older successes, and the audience loved her soulful voice and distinctive flair. The audience was in awe of Silvana Estrada's beautiful vocals and compelling stage presence. Everyone was bopping along to the jazz-infused R&B sound of Robert Glasper.
Both Lalah Hathaway's heartfelt songs and Snarky Puppy's upbeat performance got everyone in the audience moving to the music. Tank and the Bangas' eclectic fusion of funk, soul, and hip-hop got everyone on their feet, and MARO's distinctive sound and potent voice made an impression that would not soon be forgotten.
While Emily King's sultry vocals and moving lyrics inspired everyone, Cory Henry's deep melodies and amazing organ prowess mesmerized the audience. The 2023 GroundUP Music Festival, which included some of the biggest and brightest musicians in R&B music, was a great success all around.
