Some of the biggest stars in the metal scene have performed at the Oberhausen, Germany-based Impericon Festival. We Came As Romans, Silverstein, Thy Art Is Murder, Attila, Fit For A King, Bury Tomorrow, Knocked Loose, The Ghost Inside, Emmure, and The Black Dahlia Murder were among the best performers during the most recent production, which took place in 2023.
We Came As Romans gave a scorching performance, mesmerizing the audience with their upbeat stage presence and potent vocals. Thy Art Is Murder brought the heaviness with their horrific deathcore sound, while Silverstein's blend of lyrical hardcore had the entire audience singing along.
Mosh pits broke out throughout Attila's and Fit For A King's acts as a result of their ferocious metalcore and soaring choruses, respectively. The crowd went berserk when Bury Tomorrow combined clean and yelled vocals with Knocked Loose's hardcore punk-infused music.
Highlights of the festival included The Ghost Inside's moving comeback performance following their sad bus tragedy in 2015, while The Black Dahlia Murder's technical death metal and Emmure's devastating breakdowns completed the stellar roster. Metal fans continue to make Oberhausen's Impericon Festival a priority event to attend.
