Since its start, the Ireby Festival has become a destination for lovers of country music. It is held yearly in the picturesque countryside of the UK. A number of the UK's and other countries' most outstanding musicians perform at the festival, and 2023 was no exception. Tide Lines, one of the festival's top acts, attracted a sizable audience with their distinctive fusion of Scottish folk and rock. Another star was the Devon-born singer-songwriter Seth Lakeman, who enthralled the crowd with his deep voice and skillful fiddling.
Imar, whose contagious energy and traditional Celtic music had everyone on their feet, was another musician who made an enduring impression on festival-goers. In addition to Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys, CoCo and The Butterfields, The Small Glories, Flats & Sharps, Blue Rose Code, Bella Hardy, and Claire Hastings all gave outstanding performances. Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys presented their own special brand of bluegrass and folk. A very amazing weekend of music resulted with each musician bringing their unique style and flair to the stage.
Overall, with a great lineup of talented musicians exhibiting the finest of the genre, the Ireby Festival once again demonstrated why it is a highlight of the UK's country music calendar. There was something for everyone at the festival, and it is obvious why it continues to be a fan favorite year after year. From the raucous singalongs of Tide Lines to the heartfelt ballads of Seth Lakeman, there was something for everyone.
