Some of the most skilled and well-liked musicians from throughout Europe performed at the Manchester Folk Festival in 2023. The Longest Johns, a Bristol-based ensemble renowned for their sea shanties and harmonies that astounded the audience, were among the best performers. The iconic British singer-songwriter Billy Bragg attended the festival as well, and he gave a stirring performance that moved everyone in attendance.
The Futureheads, who got the crowd bouncing with their dynamic and contagious indie punk sound, and This Is The Kit, who brought their special blend of folk rock and electronica to the festival, were other prominent performers. Talisk's brisk Scottish folk song got everyone on their feet, while John Smith's deep vocals and complex guitar playing captivated the audience. Additionally outstanding performances were given by Kate Rusby and Beans On Toast, both of whom are seasoned folk musicians.
