Since many years, Serbia's Nisville Jazz Festival has served as a mecca for reggae music, and the 2023 edition was no exception. Some of the top names in the business performed at the festival this year. They included The Manhattan Transfer, Anthony B, Tricky, Simone, Goran Bregovic, Gipsy Kings, Inner Circle, Bohemia, and Gipsy Kings.
The Gipsy Kings brought their distinctive flamenco-influenced music to the festival, and the Czech rapper and singer Bohemia offered his own fusion of hip-hop and reggae. The Jamaican reggae band Inner Circle performed some of their best songs, including "Bad Boys" and "Sweat (A La La La La La Long)." Anthony B, a deejay and singer from Jamaica, performed songs from his vast catalog in the background.
The Brazilian singer and songwriter Simone performed at the festival while English artist and producer Tricky delivered his avant-garde sound. The Serbian artist and composer Goran Bregovic brought his Balkan-influenced sound to the festival, and the Nigerian singer and saxophonist Seun Kuti played songs from his most recent album.
The American jazz vocal group The Manhattan Transfer played some of their famous tunes, and the Australian vocal group Human Nature brought their sultry harmonies to the festival. The festival, which featured some of the biggest names in the business, was an overall celebration of reggae music and its various inspirations.
