One of the most eagerly awaited reggae festivals in the country is Reggae On The Mountain. Some of the most well-known reggae musicians have called it home, and the 2023 edition did not dissapoint. Ziggy Marley, Matisyahu, Gondwana, Ky-Mani Marley, Steel Pulse, Barrington Levy, Toots & The Maytals, Julian Marley, Groundation, and Pato Banton were some of the greatest names in the business who performed at the festival.
The crowd was left wanting more as Ziggy Marley, the eldest son of reggae great Bob Marley, performed. The audience enjoyed the unusual fusion of reggae and hip-hop that Matisyahu, an American-Jewish reggae musician, brought to the stage. Steel Pulse, a group that has been going since the 1970s, put on a strong and soulful performance that displayed their years of professional experience.
Other great musicians who brought their A-game to the stage were also featured during the festival. The dancehall and reggae performer from Jamaica, Barrington Levy, had the audience up and dancing the entire time. While Toots & The Maytals, a Jamaican ska and reggae band, displayed their legendary standing in the business, Groundation, a California-based reggae band, presented their own roots reggae sound to the festival. All things considered, Reggae On The Mountain 2023 was a special occasion that honored the lengthy tradition and culture of reggae music.
